Happy Holidays

Hello World,

I love working hard and seeing the end result of an artistic vision. My new film Purity opens in February 2010. I can't believe how cold the weather is in Chicago. It's this incredible slushy icy mess. I am thankful for my new home in Los Angeles. The sun shines everyday there. I wake up with a smile, ready to take on the day. So here's the new movie poster for Purity. Enjoy!

Peace & Love,
Alexandra

Anyway, I'm working on another t.v. show tomorrow. Here are some movie stills from PURITY.

Goodnight and Peace !

DiNovi's Official Blog

Hello World,

From now on I am going to make a huge effort to do my best to make a regular personal blog here. I will inform you about my endeavors, current projects, behind the scenes...my hopes and dreams.....everything! Uncensored.

Where to begin?

My name is Alexandra Di Novi. I'm an actress. I'm a storyteller. I'm a kid. I like dancing. I love music and my favorite thing is falling in love.

I guess I'm a dreamer and a passionate person. I first fell in love with life on set in 2005. That was my first experience in film...but I should probably start from the beginning.

There are no rules in this blog from now on. It is completely personal and uncensored. There is no set pattern. I will write from the heart what I feel without holding back.

The beginning is back when I was a little girl and I first saw Shirley Temple. I was probably three years old because that was around the time that I saw my cousin play violin and I started taking lessons. After seeing Shirley Temple I knew I wanted to sing and dance. I became passionate about tap. I competed all over Illinois in tap. Finally at 7 years old, I was in my first play. I was Maria in The Sound of Music at the Center for the Arts in my town. After that, I knew I wanted to be in more plays.

Anyway, more on my background later...

I moved to LA in August and I have been busy NONSTOP. I have completed seven different independent film projects and an array of tv gigs at Warner Bros, CBS, the list goes on.

Persistence & Patience.

My best friend is amazing. He lives in San Diego. I like to escape there when I can to get away from work. I love working. Acting is my life. I was definitely born with a purpose. I was born to act. It's fun for me to wake up everyday with a new adventure. When I was little I used to say, "I love acting because I get to play different people." Now that's different for me. I love acting because I learn a lot about myself through my work. It's a process.

Last week I shot a film in Chicago. This is my fourth huge film in Chicago. I worked really hard on set. I learned a lot. That's what I love about my job. I'm constantly learning, changing, growing. I am so thankful for acting work in my life. I am truly blessed. I thank God everyday for giving me the talents, abilities and drive that I possess.

Anyway, I fell in love with a guy. It's crazy because I knew from this similar feeling in my stomach I had with my first love. I know because I got the same feeling with this guy. Anyway, he's an actor too. He's great. It's just that over Thanksgiving, I realized that I may still have feelings for my first love...

Portraits

I'm currently doing work on the film "Portraits." My character, Natalie is an artist and lesbian. The film is symbolic and quite interesting. Rico Grillo, the writer/director is intelligent, romantic and a brilliant artist.

The Horror at Belmont Harbor

6/6/09

I'm currently in the developmental stages of my story for The Horror at Belmont Harbor. This film will be shot in Chicago in July 2010. The story is coming along smoothly with some minor detail changes. I have also been obsessively watching horror films as well as delving into dark novels and short stories. I am currently reading "Alexandra" by Valerie Martin and "Parched" by Heather King.
