Welcome 2013! I want to take a moment to pause and reflect on the exquisite experiences of 2012. God, where do I begin? I opened the year with my very first jet plane ride to an awesome snowboarding vacation on an elite private mountain where I actually met Bill Gates.

I did not fall in love with a man in 2012. This past year, I focused on myself. I paid attention to my family and friends. Sure, I dated. Sure, I threw lush pool parties in the hills up Sunset Plaza with friends, in Beverly Hills, and one even on a rooftop solarium lounge in Chicago. Sure, I spent time at the Trump Towers, enjoyed their eloquent 14 course narrative meal at 16, and crossed multitudinous interesting restaurants off my list...Sure, I went ice skating outside in Florida...but I didn't find love this year. I found lust. I found fun. I discovered the difference between a sophistocated player and a sweetheart boy. I learned the difference between boys and men. I prefer the latter. In 2012, I made close connections with lifelong friends.
In 2012, I rediscovered my love for Hinsdale, Illinois, my hometown. I enjoyed Chicago's eclectic restaurants and theaters.
I am thankful for my brother and my dad for making me laugh so hard I cry. I love my Chicago friends in my close circle. I love my West Coast friends.
Welcome 2013! I'm ready for a healthy, happy year which will focus on intellect, reading, writing, family and close friends.
Love,
A
