Athletic Experience: Winner of the 1994 SCI Brickyard Plantation Futures Classic; Member of the American Express Women Professional Golfers European Tour, the Australian Ladies Golf Tour, the Futures Golf Tour and the Kosaido-Asahi Ladies Asian Golf Circuit; Captain, Duke University Women’s Golf Team; NCAA Honorable Mention All-American; ACC 50th Anniversary Women’s Golf Team; Duke University Equestrian Team; Captain, 3x Maryland State Champion Winston Churchill Boy’s Golf Team; Heli-Rafted the Klinaklini River in 2003; Summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2006; Completed the Baron Baptiste Level I Power Yoga Teacher Training Program; also enjoy tennis, qigong, walking on the beach, hiking in the mountains, SCUBA, learning how to surf!
Favorite Fitness Tip: Get moving! Sir Isaac Newton really knew his stuff – “Bodies in motion stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force.” Sometimes, the hardest thing to do is to find the time and motivation to get going. It doesn’t matter what type of activity you enjoy; every little bit helps! Try new things, especially if it’s something that frightens you; every time I contemplate trying a new thing and hear my inner voice saying, “Oh, I could never do that!” I know I met my latest challenge. Be willing to take risks, be brave enough to fall down, fear not looking foolish, and have the courage to be true to yourself. No matter what you do, know that KALYX is here to support you in your endeavors!
Favorite Indulgence: Spending time with family and friends, Watching the sun set over the Santa Monica Mountains, Vinnie Marino’s classes at Yoga Works, Wearing Jeans & Flip-Flops to the Office, Red Wine, Dark Chocolate, Fish Tacos, Fresh Flowers, Listening to Kid Rock, Kings of Leon and Fergie, Jewelry from Platino on Montana, Shoes…Jimmy Choo, Louboutin, Havaianas, Newton; and, of course, my black KALYX Uplift Sports Bra!
Inspiration: My mother, Carol…she is the strongest and most beautiful KALYX Woman I know. My family and friends: their encouragement, love and support keep me going day after day. My team: their creativity, dedication, energy, enthusiasm and passion continue to amaze me. My heroes: the brave women who have fought the good fight over the years, demonstrating courage and commitment in the face of great adversity, insurmountable challenges and shameful discrimination; women who through their efforts have broken down barriers, opened new doors, created opportunities and paved the way for so many female athletes and women in business.
